The client initially told us after she got her free estimate that she was terribly busy and didn't have time for a long sales pitch before the appointment. The team spent a couple hours with her, and she was very deep down. There are now people living in the basement and she was concerned with air quality and radon. She teaches college science and works in water treatment. She also cares for two large huskies. She had a crowded basement with an unfinished storage room. There are storage shelves next to sump pit with exterior drain tiles. As per the plan, one will be moved, the other has been built in but they will remove items from the shelf. The team also moved the big shed from her yard, and everything fell into place.

This client is an ICU nurse and was very accommodating. She bought the house earlier this year and radon levels were just over 4. Her parents have been nagging her to get her own radon mitigation system and she is wanting to take care of some home projects before the winter season comes in. The home had a sump pit with a pump and no drain tile. It has 2 inaccessible crawlspaces, currently about 18 inches tall, with no open access. The homeowner is unaware that she had crawlspaces! You really learn something new every day. It was smooth installation!

Customer's Guess was Right!

This radon mitigation installation is a 3-point system two of which will be on the far wall of the storage room in the basement and one run going to the sump pump around the corner. Customer is right on levels where between 20 to 30 - it's relatively high. He said results were fluctuating but lingering on the high side. Extraction point is in the back corner of the house he was looking to have it hidden in the cutout section of the corner if possible. The team advised client that they needed to see if that was a possibility due to the Copper fight being in the way. He said worst case scenario just go straight out next to it and running up alongside the gutter. It worked out and everyone was happy as the installation went on swiftly.

Understanding Homeowner: Lead to Another Remediation Service

The owner is familiar with encapsulation from his insurance background, easily understood our mitigation proposal. Having used our services before, he spoke highly of us. The reason for his current call was a potential radon issue due to a past home addition. The homeowner was very cooperative and led me to the crawl space upon arriving. The team will implement a two-point system, one connecting to the crawl space and exiting through the back corner of the house. Considering aesthetics, the homeowner prefers the extraction to run inside the fence, along the gutter. He was happy as his demands were granted.

Simple & Meaningful Radon Mitigation Project

This installation was a simple 1-point system where we can run the extraction point from the plumbing stack and route it over to where their jar events are venting out. The client also lets the team know that there's some pump was not working and was looking to just have us complete that when we sealed it up. She had a radon test and returned with high levels. She is concerned for her kids and family's well-being.

Lung Cancer Patient Needed Help

This will be an interior system that will run out from the sump pit in the utility room. There is also a sewage pit that I explained to the client where we do not touch the interior system since it will run up through the rim joist and out into the garage. The client was asking if we would be able to hide the PVC routing and tuck it away on the wall side of where the fridge is. We can then write it up into the garage and out the back side of the house to hide the extraction point through the roof. A Breathe EZ filter will also be installed. This all stem from the fact that the client's husband was diagnosed with Stage 2 lung cancer which is what prompted their inquiry into radon mitigation in the first place. They live on an acreage with a couple horses and two cute little donkeys.

Radon Mitigation - Elkhart, IA

The client made a radon test, and levels were around 8 by her treadmill. She had a multilevel basement, so the team needs one point in lowest level and one thru wall for living room/work out room. The Team Lead told her since interior tile we could consolidate points and use less PVC, but if the client wants to put point in the sump - the team will go for it, will just need a couple more sticks of PVC but not coring thru floor. She also has a couple of dogs and hasn't had ducts cleaned. We advised her about our air duct cleaning service, and she was interested!

Selling Home Needed Radon Mitigation in Mitchellville, Iowa

This home is managed by Dan - he doesn't own the home but it the executor for the sale of it. His Mom passed and he is getting it ready for the market. He definitely knows his pointers how to make a home saleable and having a radon mitigation in it would definitely increase the value. We were able to draft a simple 1-point system and there was already a dedicated space for the system. He emphasized about aesthetics, and we made sure everything was installed right to his demands. Happy customer indeed!

Respiratory Concerns Leads to Radon Mitigation

Radon Remediation in Runnells, Iowa

This is a 2-point extraction system due to radon levels being at 22. They will be coming out of the utility room and out the back side of the house.  We discussed everything to the homeowners from the ideal system to the installation process. The main reason why they got a system is due to his wife having lung issues and respiratory concerns.

Radon Mitigation is a Home Inspection Need

This client had an old radon mitigation installed in 2013 when the team checked, it was no longer working! Homeowner decided to have it replaced with a new one as he is planning to have the house appraised and his home inspector friend suggested to have his radon mitigation system checked first as he observed it's old age. The team installed on the same spot and educated client on how it should be maintained. He opted for a fan cover for maximum durability.

How to prevent radon?

This is a 1 point system that will be exiting out of the sump and out throught the garage. Homeowner looking to have the stack run close to the corner of the house so it can tuck in behind the garage door that opens if possible. Then vent out through the back side of the roof. The team advised him that this would all be possible but we also need to have enough room to run pipe as well as add the fan. Client agreed and he will also be adding an ERV into the laundry room. Inlet for air will be in this room as there is a patio out back. Was up in the air on where they would like the exhaust to come out. Also looking to have air suction from inside the house to help with circulation. Radon levels were at a 30 so it was really suggested to mitigation. They were actually a super nice couple who were very understanding.
