This will be a 2-point system and two sump pits will need to be sealed up. They are both located in the utility portion of the storage area. The team will need to core through one of the walls to create an additional instruction point and encapsulation and use one of the other sump pits for an extraction point. Rusty from the team was surprised when he walked into this home and saw the size of the crawl space. There is a small storage room with paint in it and pegboard that can be taken down to access the very large crawl space. It is almost broken down into three separate areas that have access to each one of them. The customer was also looking to have the far side of the home insulated. It's the crawl space that drops down a little bit further because they seem to not be able to carry all that much heat in the area. I didn't crawl around too much further in there but could be a good opportunity to add more insulation if it was sought to be fit. The customer was looking to have the external extraction point come out of the corner of their home and was back and forth between the pond side of the house or around the corner with the bushes. The installation was quick and easy!

This was a tough account and then a thousand questions for me that I needed to answer. No harm no foul but they are very detailed individuals and it was a fight too and the sale because the homeowner his wife did not like the fact that there was only a three-day cancellation policy if they changed their mind. You know there they decided to do something and I think they're on the same page at this point. If you go down into the basement there is a small storage area to the left hand side and in that corner the homeowner would like an extraction point. They would like it run out through the ceiling through an existing dryer vent. He will be cutting an 8x8 square out of their drywall so that we will be able to run our pvc. Being at the home has right on levels around 15 to 16. And he wanted to run the second extraction point on the same well that has a television. He's not all that concerned with Aesthetics because I don't believe that they spend a lot of time downstairs. We had a known competitor who worked in the basement of this client. They sold them a package and done terrible work. The customer was so pissed with the radon system and on other things they did for them. Last straw was them telling them waterproofing basement would help out with radon. The client had a 2 point system that is still measuring at radon levels of 9. Manometer was reading around a 4 and talked to them about adding another fan that was of higher suction power. They also asked if we could check the existing work over and make sure they dug the cavities out properly. We agreed and checked everything thoroughly, client really appreciated us going extra mile. In addition to that, they requested an ERV installation and it will be in the basement -- vented. They did specifically request if it's possible to have the ERV vent towards the left wall looking at the stairs. Nothing is possible, we made everything work! Client is happy and would recommend us to family and friends.

When is Radon Mitigation Necessary?

Our client had this booked ahead of time but he was rushed to the hospital under critical condition. On these circumstances, the team tries their best to make sure everything is convenient to the client and won't add stress to the situation.

The client called us when he got home and wanted to get something going. He wants the system to be exiting the house out of the small electrical closet in the corner. Either that or pulling from the sump due to tiling lines. He specifically requested a Breathe EZ for layered health. As a heads up, the client really liked the sound of the Sedona but wasn't ready to pull the trigger do to total project cost. He will definitely contact us back once he is ready!

This was a simple installation as the homeowner's wife was really concerned about the high radon exposure during the winter season. She called up Iowa Radon Defense and asked for a quote. They were happy with the pricing and discussed the drafted plan with them. Everything was virtual as they knew their home very well and provided all the photos needed for the team to reference to. They will be on vacation during Thanksgiving, so they wanted this to be done before that starts. The wife was happy about the team cleaning up before leaving as she thought she would be doing it.
