This client initially requested a design on how the radon mitigation system would look like in his house first. We gave him a draft along with the explanation how the pipes would route in and out of the home. He only wanted a simple install, something that would protect from exposure. 

Upgrading Radon Mitigation Install with an ERV System

After another company installed a radon system last year for this homeowner, they still saw levels around 9 pCi/L in the basement and 5 pCi/L upstairs. Unsatisfied, he reached out to our team for a better solution. We installed an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) on the back wall, using a Y-connection to also pressurize the crawlspace through the rim joist. The existing Festa Eagle Extreme and sealed sump were solid, but floor cracks and an inaccessible crawlspace limited performance. With the new ERV setup, the home now has better airflow, lower radon levels, and improved indoor air quality.

The client was very approachable and suggested a lot. He has a good idea of where the system will go so the team made it happen for him. The crawlspace was a challenge since it's inaccessible. It has an old window for an access point. The team installed a single point system and made it work regardless of the challenge in crawlspace. Client was really happy!

The clients were a nice, retired couple. They invested in this ranch house as their retirement home with a fully finished basement near the lake. Before moving in, they had to test for radon as they have been seeing the need everywhere, especially with elderly... It turned out the levels were high! The team utilized the pit for extraction and perforated holes in the side. They had an L-shaped crawlspace, so it was a bit of a challenge. Everything was well done, and they liked it.
